How to change your dog’s food
Most dogs can change to a new food without difficulty, but it’s usually sensible to make the transition gradually.
A sudden change in diet can sometimes result in digestive upset, particularly for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Introduce the new food gradually
Start by adding a small amount of the new food to your dog’s normal meal.
Over the following days, gradually increase the amount of new food while reducing the old food.
For many dogs, changing over approximately 7–10 days works well.
There’s no need to rush.
If your dog needs a little longer, take a little longer.
Switching to Monty’s
Monty’s can be introduced in exactly the same way.
Start with a few spoonfuls alongside your dog’s existing food and gradually increase the amount.
You don’t have to feed Monty’s exclusively either. Some customers choose to feed a partial Monty’s diet, combining it with their dog’s existing food.
Keep an eye on your dog
Some changes in stools can occur when changing diets, but persistent vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite or other concerning symptoms should be discussed with your vet.
Take it gradually and let your dog set the pace.
