Diet & healthy digestion
Healthy digestion allows your dog to break down food and absorb the nutrients their body needs.
Diet naturally plays an important part in that process.
Consistency can help
Many dogs respond well to a consistent feeding routine.
Repeatedly and suddenly changing foods can cause digestive upset in some dogs.
That’s one reason we recommend introducing a new food gradually.
Every dog is different
It’s tempting to describe particular ingredients as universally good or bad for digestion.
Dogs aren’t that simple.
An ingredient that suits one dog perfectly may not suit another, and digestive symptoms can have causes unrelated to diet.
Introducing Monty’s
If your dog is new to freshly cooked food, introduce Monty’s gradually alongside their existing food.
Increase the amount over several days while reducing their old food.
Give your dog time to adjust.
Know when to ask for help
Occasional digestive upset happens, but persistent diarrhoea, vomiting, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss or significant changes in appetite should be discussed with your vet.
Changing food? Take it gently. Worried about your dog? Talk to your vet.
