1. Who we are
1.1 Monty’s Larder is a trading brand wholly owned and operated by The Dorset Meat Company Ltd. Monty’s Larder is not a separate company, partnership, legal person or contracting entity.
1.2 This website, www.montyslarder.co.uk (the Site), is owned and operated by The Dorset Meat Company Ltd (DMC, we, us or our).
1.3 The Dorset Meat Company Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 08560627. Our registered office is Innovation House, Wincombe Lane, Shaftesbury, Dorset SP7 8FG.

2. About this User Agreement
2.1 This User Agreement governs access to and use of the Site. By using the Site, you agree to this User Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
2.2 Purchases made through the Site are also governed by our Terms and Conditions. Our collection and use of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Those documents should be read with this User Agreement.
2.3 If there is a conflict between this User Agreement and the Terms and Conditions in relation to an order or Product, the Terms and Conditions will apply to that order or Product.
2.4 You must be at least 18 years old to place an order or create an account.
3. Changes to this User Agreement
3.1 We may update this User Agreement to reflect changes in law, regulation, the Site, our services, security practices or business operations.
3.2 The current version and its update date will be published on the Site. Changes apply from the stated effective date and will not retrospectively alter a contract already formed for an accepted order.
3.3 If you do not accept an updated User Agreement, you should stop using the Site.
4. Access to the Site
4.1 Access to the Site is provided free of charge, although you are responsible for any equipment, internet access or charges needed to use it.
4.2 We aim to keep the Site available, accurate and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors.
4.3 We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change all or part of the Site for maintenance, security, legal, technical or operational reasons. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice of significant planned disruption.
4.4 You are responsible for ensuring that anyone who accesses the Site through your internet connection is aware of and complies with this User Agreement.
5. Accounts and security
5.1 Certain Site features, including the plan builder, order management and regular deliveries, may require an account.
5.2 You must provide accurate, complete and current information and update it promptly when it changes.
5.3 You must keep login information confidential and must not allow another person to use your account without permission.
5.4 If you know or suspect that somebody has accessed your account without permission, change your password and contact us immediately.
5.5 We may suspend access where we reasonably believe an account is insecure, being misused or connected with fraud or unlawful activity. We will contact you where reasonably practicable.
6. Permitted use
6.1 You may use the Site for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes, including learning about Monty’s Larder, using our feeding tools and purchasing Products.
6.2 You must not:
- use the Site unlawfully, fraudulently or in a way that harms another person;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, an account, server, database or connected system;
- introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material;
- interfere with the Site’s operation, security or availability;
- scrape, harvest or extract Site data or content using automated means without our written permission;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority;
- use the Site or its content to create, train or improve a competing commercial product or service without our written permission; or
- reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit Site content except as expressly permitted by this User Agreement or by law.
6.3 You must not misuse contact forms, review facilities, customer-support channels or other interactive features.
7. Information about dog food, nutrition and health
7.1 Site content about dog food, nutrition, feeding and wellbeing is provided for general information. It is not a substitute for individual examination, diagnosis, treatment or advice from a veterinary surgeon.
7.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, Monty’s Larder Products are not veterinary medicines or therapeutic diets.
7.3 Consult your veterinary surgeon if your dog is unwell, has a diagnosed or suspected medical condition, has an allergy or intolerance, requires a therapeutic diet, receives medication, or experiences unexpected changes in weight, appetite, thirst, energy or digestion.
7.4 Relevant articles may identify an author, reviewer and review date. References to expert review apply only where expressly stated.
7.5 Although we take reasonable care in preparing Site content, nutritional and veterinary knowledge develops over time and individual dogs have different needs. You should not rely on general Site content as the sole basis for a decision requiring individual veterinary advice.
8. Plan builder and feeding recommendations
8.1 Our plan builder and feeding tools use information you provide to estimate meal choices, calories and portions for your dog.
8.2 Recommendations are a starting point and not a veterinary diagnosis, prescription or guarantee of weight change or health outcome.
8.3 Recommendations depend on the accuracy and completeness of the information supplied. A dog’s needs may vary according to age, breed, weight, body condition, neuter status, activity, health and other food or treats consumed.
8.4 You are responsible for monitoring your dog’s weight, body condition, appetite and wellbeing and for obtaining veterinary advice where appropriate.
9. Accuracy of Site information
9.1 We take reasonable care to keep Site information accurate and current. We may correct errors and update content without notice.
9.2 Product information, ingredients, prices, availability and delivery options may change. Check the Product page, checkout information and packaging supplied with each delivery before use.
9.3 Images are illustrative. Packaging, colour, texture and appearance may vary slightly without affecting the Product’s essential characteristics.
9.4 Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights where a Product is not as described or information forms part of a contract between you and DMC.
10. Intellectual property
10.1 The Site and its content—including the Monty’s Larder name, branding, trade marks, text, recipes, photographs, video, audio, graphics, illustrations, software, code, layout and design—are owned by or licensed to DMC and protected by intellectual property law.
10.2 You may view the Site and print or download reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial use.
10.3 You must not modify those extracts or use photographs, video, audio, illustrations or graphics separately from their accompanying context.
10.4 You must not reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, license, commercially exploit or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
10.5 “Monty’s Larder” and associated branding must not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation without our prior written permission.
11. Linking to the Site
11.1 You may link to publicly available pages of the Site in a fair and lawful way that does not damage our reputation or suggest an association or endorsement that does not exist.
11.2 You must not frame the Site on another website, link from an unlawful or misleading website, or use a link in connection with false, defamatory or deceptive material.
11.3 We may ask you to remove a link where it breaches this User Agreement or otherwise creates a legal, security or reputational risk.
12. User content, reviews and communications
12.1 If you submit a review, photograph, comment, testimonial, question or other content (User Content), you confirm that:
- it is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you own it or have permission to submit it;
- it does not infringe another person’s rights;
- it is not unlawful, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, deceptive or promotional spam; and
- it does not contain confidential information or personal data you are not authorised to disclose.
12.2 You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant DMC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display, adapt and use it for operating, promoting and improving Monty’s Larder, subject to applicable data-protection and advertising laws.
12.3 We may moderate or remove User Content that breaches this User Agreement, but are not required to monitor all submissions.
12.4 We will identify paid, incentivised or materially connected endorsements where required by law.
13. Third-party websites and services
13.1 The Site may contain links to websites, platforms or services operated by third parties. These links are provided for information or convenience.
13.2 We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their availability, security, content or privacy practices. A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse the third party.
13.3 Review the terms and privacy information of any third-party site before using it.
14. Security and harmful material
14.1 We use reasonable measures to protect the Site, but no website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure or free of harmful material.
14.2 You should use appropriate security software and keep your devices, browser and software current.
14.3 We are not responsible for damage caused by harmful material where it was not reasonably foreseeable or was not caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Privacy and cookies
15.1 We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and use cookies and similar technologies as explained in our Cookie Policy.
15.2 Where you provide information about your dog, we may use it to operate the plan builder, recommend Products and portions, manage orders, provide support and improve our services as explained in the Privacy Policy.
15.3 If ownership of DMC or its business changes, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction only in accordance with applicable data-protection law and the Privacy Policy. This User Agreement does not create blanket consent to an unrestricted transfer or use of personal information.
16. Our responsibility
16.1 We do not exclude or limit responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so.
16.2 We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of this User Agreement or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
16.3 We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable, were not caused by our breach, or arise from use of the Site contrary to this User Agreement.
16.4 The Site is intended for domestic and private use. We are not responsible for business losses, including lost profit, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings, arising from non-permitted commercial use.
16.5 Nothing excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer law; or
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16.6 Our responsibility in relation to orders and Products is dealt with in the Terms and Conditions.
17. Suspension and termination
17.1 We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or an account if you materially breach this User Agreement, misuse the Site, create a security risk, or act fraudulently or unlawfully.
17.2 Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue.
17.3 Provisions which by their nature should continue after termination—including those concerning intellectual property, User Content, liability and governing law—will remain effective.
18. General provisions
18.1 If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
18.2 A delay or failure to enforce a right does not waive that right.
18.3 You may not transfer your rights or obligations under this User Agreement without our written consent. We may transfer ours where this does not reduce your rights and will notify you where required.
18.4 This User Agreement is between you and DMC. No other person has a right to enforce it, except where the law provides otherwise.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
19.1 This User Agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales.
19.2 If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain the benefit of any mandatory legal protections that apply where you live.
19.3 You may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live. DMC may bring proceedings only in a court with lawful jurisdiction.
